Between 2003 – 2009 she was a Flemish postdoctoral fellow at the EMAT lab at the University of Antwerp. Since 2009 she is a Professor at in the in the EMAT group in the Faculty of Science, physics department. Her groundbreaking work on the quantitative analysis of electron microscopy data was awarded in 2017 the renowned “Ernst Ruska Prize” by the German Society for Electron Microscopy for outstanding achievements on ‘New Techniques for Optimum Quantitative Analysis of Electron Microscopy Data’. The ERC project builds on her previous expertise and track record and promises to develop novel methodologies for the quantitative characterization at the atomic scale of beam sensitive materials.
